About Me
For as long as I can remember I had a passion for Art and going to college to pursue an Art degree was a given. However, during my high school years, I met a little girl who changed my life. She endured more hardship in her first year on earth than some of us see in a lifetime.
Through spending time with her, I discovered my love for working with children. I went on to pursue a degree in special education and devoted all of my energy to become the best teacher I could be. Although I knew I made the right decision, something was missing.
On my twentieth birthday, I received a point and shoot camera which I immediately became infatuated with. Right away, I knew I needed more. I began editing with every software I could get my hands on and very soon, my little point and shoot camera didn’t cut it anymore. That was when I spoiled myself with my very first SLR.
A few years later, I had established my career as an educator and loved every moment of it but the need to create was itching at me. Teaching gave me the tools to communicate with children and build instant relationships. Relationships are what allow photographers to truly earn a child's trust. I now realize that I was able to combine my two passions and it all clicked. I consider myself blessed to have traveled the road that has brought me here. I believe that I didn't find my true passion; it found me.
